A pivot door rotates on a pivot box in the floor and the top jamb rather than traditional door side hinges. Weiland offers pivot doors up to 9 feet wide and 13 feet tall. These doors have become popular in last few years because they are ideal for large panels, have a cool contemporary vibe, and unique opening architectures.
Pivot Door Configurations
Single pivot doors can be built to swing in, swing out or both. Our single pivot doors provide a seamless, streamlined look with smooth operation. Furthermore the door panels can be built much wider with overall square footage greater than a side-hinged door. Our single pivots are also availabe in combo with side lights and no frames inbetween, and gang pivot; which is multiple pivot doors in a row.
Our double pivot doors (two doors side by side) are built to swing in, out, but not both. A Weiland double pivot door operates as two beautifully balanced panels that seems almost independent of their frame, and is a great choice for builders or homeowners that are looking for a greater indoor/outdoor connection, and a seamless, streamlined modern look. Our double pivots are also availabe in combo with side lights and no frames inbetween, and gang pivot; which is multiple pivot doors in a row.

Material options
Our aluminum wood pivot door has a maximum panel height of 13', and has a maximum panel width of 5' with a single bottom rail, and this increases to 8' with double bottom rail. The side stiles, top and bottom rail are all 3-1/2" wide with a sash thickness of 3-3/16".

Our all wood pivot door has a maximum panel height of 12', and has a maximum panel width of 6' with a single bottom rail, and this increases to 8' with double bottom rail. The side stiles and top rail are 3-1/2" wide. The bottom rail is 7-1/4", and the sash thickness is 3-3/16".
Finish and Color Matching
Weiland offers high quality Kynar 500® as its standard exterior finish. Kynar 500® provides outstanding color retention and weather resistance due to a time tested formulation containing a high percentage of resin, meeting AAMA 2605-05 performance requirements. Powder coating and anodizing are also available (anodizing will add approximately two weeks to lead times).
Weiland uses the highest quality wood species available on the market, enabling our clients to match any custom wood cabinetry. Mahogany, douglas fir, walnut, cherry, alder and many other wood types are often used. For special projects, customers can also choose any available wood species.
We’ll match any clad colors of window manufacturers. For custom color matching just send us a color sample (some custom or metallic colors may cost more or have longer lead times).
Glass Choices
Options include insulated units with tempered glass and various coatings to optimize energy efficiency including laminated, tinted, and other options. Low E3 and other available coatings greatly reduce heat transfer through glass and also help minimize fading of furniture and carpets that can be caused by harmful UV rays. Divided lites and lock rails are also available. The choice for no glass is offered if the client chooses to use a unique glass or would like to have the glazing done on-site by others.
Glass plays an important role in the beauty and performance of a door or window. We rigorously inspect our glass to ensure that every piece matches our quality expectations. Any glass available up to 1-1/2″ thick can be ordered to match most other glass types available and meet necessary energy requirements.
Because Weiland systems are used in extreme environments, including harsh desert heat and frigid cold ski resorts, we work with an array of glass suppliers and manufacturers to offer the highest performance glass.

Our standard flush sill uses a pivot box which provides easy adjustment of the closer without the need for a separate cover, while also concealing threshold screws.
We’ve engineered and tested our pivot door with a patented flush sill to meet weather ratings. The result is an award-winning sill designed for ADA/FFHA threshold requirements.
